Kazi S.Pk., S.K., CSP; Viele Tabellen - The Economic Analysis of the Budget seeks to highlight the economic significance of Government transactions by reclassifying them into meaningful functional and economic categories. It determines the claims of the public sector on the national resources for consumption and capital formation. Specially, the Analysis shows: (i) Payments by Government for capital formation; (ii) Government consumption expenditure; (iii) Government loans and advances to the rest of the economy; (iv) Saving of the rest of the economy channelled into the Government sector; (v) Receipts from taxation classified inte direct and indirect taxes; and (vi) Government non-tax revenue classified into income from property, commercial enterprises, state tradingoperations, interest receipts and ether miscellaneous fees. The rclassified budgetary data are presented in a set of six accounts. An additional account presents, in a summary form, the economic-cum-functional classification of Central Government expenditure. The main findings of the Analysis and the rationale and assumptions behind the reclassification have been briefly explained in the text preceding thc tables. The Analysis bad so far been confined to Budget estimates for the current year and revised estimates for the preceding year. Its scope has now been extended to cover the past actuals for thc period 1965-66 anwald. It is hoped that the, Analysis will prove usefull to all these interested in tbe economic implications of the Budget. - - -.
