The work from A to Z described many kinds of animals. This is the first edition! There are for example pictures of birds, butterflies, insects, beetles, shells, amphibians and fishes as well as numerous kinds from the range of the quadruped. The two volumes are absolutely complete in their description and in the number of copper engravings. Probably at the second volume an alphabetical index is missing.
