Charles G. D. Brook

Dr Charles Brook MBBChir MA MD FRCP FRCPCH Former Director, London Centre for Paediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism; Professor of Paediatric Endocrinology, University College, and Consultant Paediatrician, University College London Hospitals and Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, London Dr Brook trained at Cambridge University, UK, St Thomas's and Great Ormond Street Hospitals, London, UK and Kinderspital Zürich, Switzerland. He achieved a personal chair in Paediatric Endocrinology at University College London in 1989. In 1994, he initiated the London Centre for Paediatric Endocrinology providing a seamless service for infants, children, adolescents and adults between Great Ormond Street and University College London Hospitals. He is currently Emeritus Professor of Paediatric Endocrinology at University College London and honorary consulting paediatric endocrinologist to Great Ormond Street and University College London Hospitals. Dr Brook's main research interests are all aspects of paediatric endocrinology, particularly skeletal dysplasias, endocrine damage by radiotherapy, and Turner Syndrome. Professor Rosalind Brown, MD, received her bachelor's degree and medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. She is an active staff member at Children's Hospital Boston in Massachusetts, and is a consulting staff member at MetroWest Medical Center. At Children's Hospital Boston, Dr. Brown is the director of Clinical Trial Research (Endocrinology), the coordinator of the Clinical Research Conference, Endocrine Division, the Children's Hospital Boston liaison for the Inter-Hospital Thyroid Conference, and serves as chair of the Career Development Workshop Subcommittee, Endocrine Division. Dr. Brown is a member of the Board of Directors for Endocrine Education, and she is a member of the Public Health Committee of the American Thyroid Association. Dr. Brown has published over 35 articles, has written 20 book chapters, serves on the editorial board for Thyroid, and is an ad hoc reviewer for Endocrinology, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Journal of Immunological Methods, Journal of Pediatrics, Pediatrics, Science, and Thyroid.
